I am a passionate humanitarian and technology enthusiast with a deep commitment to using my skills and experience to make a positive impact on the world. My journey into the humanitarian field began with a strong foundation in software development and information systems management. I honed my technical expertise through various roles, developing ERP systems, and providing IT solutions for organizations in Turkey and Syria. However, my desire to contribute to something larger than myself led me to the humanitarian sector. My work with Plan International in the Philippines allowed me to witness firsthand the transformative power of technology in disaster relief and community development. Leading a team of software developers, I played a crucial role in creating and implementing technological solutions that addressed critical needs on the ground. Currently, as a Senior Technical Product Owner for AI at the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team, I am spearheading the development of open AI products that empower mappers to contribute more effectively to humanitarian mapping efforts. This work is particularly close to my heart as it combines my passion for technology with my dedication to humanitarian causes. I believe that technology, when harnessed responsibly and ethically, can be a powerful catalyst for positive change in the world. My goal is to continue pushing the boundaries of what's possible, leveraging AI and other emerging technologies to create innovative solutions that address some of the most pressing humanitarian challenges.
