Mentory (meaning "my mentor" in Arabic) is a platform connecting successful Syrian professionals who left Syria and built successful careers, outside Syria, with their local peers in Syria.

Vision:

Empowering top Syrian minds worldwide to contribute to rebuilding Syria by sharing their collective global expertise and inspiring the next generation of Syrian professionals.

Mission:

Creating a community of Syrian engineers and their mentors, supported by a state-of-the-art platform that values mentors' time and nurtures the ambition of mentees.

Why mentoring?

Having been raised and educated in Syria, we know firsthand the challenges of navigating a career outside the country—from gaps in technology and education systems to language barriers and more. But we made it, didn’t we?

Now, it’s time to give back.

If you’re one of these professionals, your knowledge and experience can be life-changing for Syrians just starting their journeys. Even a few minutes a week with a mentee can have a lasting impact on their careers and lives.

Why become a mentor? 

Mentorship is about giving back and sharing your experiences with others.

As a mentor, you will:

Be recognized as an expert in your field by your Syrian counterparts. Guide a group of local engineers, as their role model and go-to advisor for critical professional decisions. Contribute to your country’s development by sharing your knowledge. Expand your network and connections within the technology field on the ground.

Why become a mentee? 

As a mentee, you will:

Gain real-world insights from Syrian professionals who understand your culture, background, and the job market inside and outside Syria. Receive advice on how to succeed in your career from people who walked this path already.   Build valuable connections with Syrian professionals around the world. Develop essential soft skills, including communication, interview preparation, and professional presence—skills often missing from formal education in Syria. Join a supportive community that will guide you every step of the way.

In return, we ask mentees to:

Use our resources wisely. This is not another social platform! Be serious, respect your mentor’s time, and set clear goals (or let us help you identify them).

The Program

We’ve designed Mentory to make mentorship as seamless and impactful as possible.

During the soft launch, we will actively match mentors and mentees to ensure the best fit, maximizing the value for both parties.

For Mentors:

Sign up, create your profile, set your availability, and connect with mentees through messages or video calls. You decide how much time and effort you’d like to contribute.

For Mentees:

Sign up, explore mentor profiles, and get matched with a mentor to start working toward your goals. During the onboarding process, we’ll ask about your expectations and goals to ensure a meaningful experience.

If accepted into the program, you’ll be welcomed with a clear roadmap to success.
